It’s always as though the heavens have opened at left me with a foundation miracle. A foundation that is completely chemical free, vegan appropriate and made with natural ingredients that are beneficial for the skin. It seems too good to be true, doesn’t it?
I feel as though over the past months I just haven’t been able to change up my foundation without being dramatically disappointed.Every foundation that I had tried over the past months always seemed to be really greasy even though they claimed to be oil free, I just haven’t been satisfied overall with the appearance of them on my skin.
Tarte claims that this foundation has 12 hour coverage with a satin-matte finish, and I hold my hands up and serenader that this foundation lives up to their claims. To be honest I never truly understood how a foundation could have both a satin and matte finish, however it does. I personally have oily skin so I tend to gravitate towards matte finishes, however the combination of the two finishes both mentions the oils of my skin and makes my face look naturally radiant without looking shiny.
The foundation has an almost whipped cream consistency, which is due to the key ingredient Amazonian clay. When I first put the foundation at the back of my hand I immediately thought that it was too thick, as it has an almost whipped cream like consistency. However I was initially unsure of the thickness, I think that the consistency of the foundation is what makes it so blend-able and airbrushed.
I’ had heard a large amount of promising reviews about the foundation from bloggers across the pond in America. It wasn’t until Spring this year the Tarte released some of their bestsellers for sale in the UK on QVC TV and their website. However this foundation was almost proving impossible for me to get my hands on, every time I checked the QVC website it was completely sold out in every possible shade and it continued to be for a good few months. Tarte only harvest their amazonian clay from the forest river banks twice a year so there’s limited amount anyway. If you can get your hands on this I’d definitely recommend it, no matter what your skin type or tone.
