Surely I’m not the only person who pretty much revolves their whole Summer around ‘that perfect Summer playlist’ right? I feel like having a decent playlist that you can just whack on at any given event, time or moment is THE playlist that you need in your life! I thought I’d share some of the greatest additions to my Summer playlist, so you can check them out and potentially add them to your own ultimate Summer playlist!

Playlists can be tricky, especially if you’re intending on whacking the bad boy on at social events, you don’t want to ‘kill the vibe’ and all that jazz! I think there’s a particular ‘sound’ to a song and you just instantly class it as a ‘Summer song’ it’s just a sound that immediately gets you into that holiday mind frame! Here’s some songs that will add to your peaceful, idyllic Summer holiday surroundings, and a few classics that will be sure to get the party started!

If you’ve read any of my previous music/playlist posts, you will probably already know that I absolutely love Beach House! I think they’ve probably been mentioned or featured in pretty much all of my ‘What I’ve Been Listening To’ posts, I mean the obsession is real! I love the chilled out sound of Beach House. I have the ‘Bloom’ album on vinyl and usually listen to it whilst lying in bed with a cuppa, or simply just staring that the ceiling because gotta reflect on my life choices somehow!

This song has pretty much became my obsession after seeing Tame Impala live for the 3rd time at Glastonbury this year, yeah I’m  little bit of a ‘fan girl’ for Kevin Parker! This song just has a completely irresistible bass line, whenever I hear it I literally want to dance, however that’s not always manageable when you’re listening to it sat on the bus! I feel like this song is perfect for creating  good mood this Summer, whether it be at a BBQ or at a party, smack on a bit of Tame Impala and your evening is pretty much sorted!

Let’s just take a moment to appreciate this absolute adolescent throwback, well for me anyways! Back in the day when I thought I was #soindie Little Comets where one of the bands that I used to completely adore! The EP ‘Jennifer and Other Stories’ was literally the soundtrack to my 2012, I listening to it on repeat, all day every day! This song has that ‘Summer sound’ to a T! It’s so upbeat and full of joy, the perfect song for the Summer, in my books anyways!

The Beach Boys in general are a band that I pretty much completely associate with Summer! The Beach is in the name, and the beach is exactly what I think of when I listen to pretty much any track by The Beach Boys, especially Good Vibrations! Once again it’s just got that really idyllic upbeat sound of Summer that I quite literally crave when the sun starts making an appearance, if it ever does that is! This song completely transforms me to a beach in 1950’s America, red swimsuits and all!

Phoenix is another band that I love all year round, however the majority of their songs are very upbeat, catchy and get my feet tapping, so of course they’d be included in my Summer Playlist! There’s so many songs by Phoenix that I could have picked, as pretty much all of their songs instantly but be in a good mood! However I think ‘If I Ever Feel Better’ is one of those songs I can’t help but fight the temptation to dance to! If you’re wanting to create an uplifting environment and get your guests dancing, this songs the one to go for!

I hope this Summer playlist has got you feeling excited and prepared for any up and coming Summer events that you may have!

See you on Friday!
