Summer is officially over, although I’m a complete Winter baby and by far prefer the colder, cosier months, this Summer has truly been one of my favourite Summers to date! You know It’s been a good Summer when you’ve somehow managed to fill up 3 disposable cameras worth of spontaneous snaps from random Summer adventures.
This year, summer has ended in a truly unique way. I spent my last weekend of the Summer with some of my favourite people, in the sunshine at the Liverpool Food & Drink Festival! It’s amazing when blogging can offer such a lovely perk, especially when I have the opportunity to share it with those who support me and my blog the most! So, I thought it was only right to share some snaps from the food & drink festival as I think if you’re up north next Summer, you should 100% consider visiting Sefton Park for this brilliant event, each year it just keeps getting better and better!
LIVERPOOL FOOD & DRINK FESTIVAL
By now, surely you know that I’m a massive festival fan and love nothing more than chilling on a field listening to some music and soaking up the atmosphere (and hopefully a bit of sun) however the Liverpool Food & Drink festival is a whole other level – I mean if Glastonbury had food like this, I don’t think I’d ever leave.
Liverpool has blossomed over the past few years and has really taken pride in the independent/local business and trades and the community has really shown the love for what Liverpool has to offer! Every other week there’s a new and interesting independent restaurant or business popping up all over Liverpool, whether its somewhere casual on Lark Lane, or somewhere ‘hip’ on Bold Street, there’s literally no need to go to a chain business. The independents have got you covered!
The festival is brilliant for all of the family, there’s trampolines, live music and a wide variety of food! I mean, this year you could even put your dog in a doggy nursery for the day whilst you soaked up the sun and scoffed your face with several burritos and a selection of cheeses..
Last year, we drank more than we ate I was all about those Sangrias from Bar Bodega however this year I wanted to try all of the food, before I was back to attempting to eat healthy! To start, we had Mac ‘n’ Cheese from Button Street Smokehouse which is a restaurant that I’ve never had the chance to eat at, however the Mac ‘n’ Cheese was good! We then had Humous Fries from Maray, which is one of my favourite restaurants, I’m all about the humous and falafel life! The main event was a burger from Almost Famous I do love a good burger, especially with all of the cheeses and the Almost Famous special sauce! We then tried some Thai beers from Singha, I’m not usually a beer fan however I actually really enjoyed it, it was smooth and didn’t have that overly bitter taste that some beers can have!
The festival is littered with local produce stalls, which I did get a little overly excited by, I bought candy floss flavoured popcorn, some pastries and a selection of flavoured teas… OH and a salted caramel brownies – My boyfriend described me as ‘A child on christmas’ which I’m not sure whether I should be embarrassed about!
This Summer has been another standout season this year, to be honest this whole year has been a complete world wind. Although it’s now officially over and back to reality and back it university to tackle my final year (pray for me in advance, thanks..) I feel as though this lovely little ending has got me in a positive mind frame and hopefully that will result in less mental breakdowns as I endeavour what could potentially be the most stressful year of my life – if you follow me on twitter (@Abigail_Sophia) you will probably receive live updates on how many mental breakdowns I have… Oops.
Anyways, here’s to Summer! I hope you’ve all had a good one!
Love,
I was there at the festival too and everything was perfect! I was expecting a really chilled weather, however, I ended up having sunburn! Did you try pumpkin spiced liqueur? It was so good! There are already so many restaurants I want to visit, I don't know which one to go first 🙂 It looks like you had a great time and the food looks yummy! Ela BellaWorld
