It’s no secret that I’m no makeup artists. I mean, over the past few months my makeup skills have really improved if I do say so myself so I feel as though I’m progressively becoming more daring and experimental when it comes to my makeup! I’m really loving adding different colours and inevitable glitter – I never ever thought I’d be a glitter kind of girl however I’m living life like Tinkerbell.
With the party season on the horizon and the change in season meaning that it’s only right for us to have a little makeup switch-up, I thought I’d share this party inspired makeup involving Mac’s ‘Blue Brown’ lose pigment to create a super metallic ‘space goth’ kind of vibes. It’s really fool proof and only takes a couple of products to create, it’s a look that cannot go wrong in the sense that the messier and more dramatic it looks, the better!
PRODUCTS USED TO CREATE THE EYE LOOK
- MAC Paint Pot – Painterly
- Make Up Geek Eyeshadow Pan – Bitten
- MAC Eyeshadow Pan – Swiss Chocolate
- Make Up Geek Eyeshadow Pan – Corrupt
- MAC Lose Pigment – Blue Brown
- Kat Von D Tatto Liner – Trooper
- Maybeline False Lash Effect Mascara – Extra Black
- MAC Fix Plus Spray (or any other make-up spray you have!)

1. Prime your eyes! I like to use Mac’s Paint Pot in Painterly as it’s a neutral tone that cancels out any veins on my eyelids and creates a good base for my eyeshadows, especially if you’re wanting to apply colour!
2. Next I dusted a skin tone eyeshadow all over my lids, just to set the paint pot and make it a little easier to blend everything out when I begin to add more eyeshadows.
3. I then blended Swiss Chocolate into my crease and blended it all out with a large fluffy blending brush. Keep adding this shade and building it up in the outer corner however still continue to blend it out as you want it to look somewhat seamless.
4. Begin to blend Bitten into the crease, however bring it slightly into the lid and blend until you have the desired look that you want, or until your arm feels like it’s going to snap off! I usually keep adding Bitten and pack it on towards the outer corner like you did with Swiss Chocolate.
5. Now it’s time for the main event…The glitter! I used a flat eyeshadow brush and sprayed my Mac Fix Plus onto both sides. I then patted it into Mac’s Blue Brown Pigment and patted it onto the centre of my eyelid
6. Once you’ve added the lose pigment, add more of Bitten into the crease and blend it out and slightly into the pigment, just so there’s no obvious lines were the shadow stops and the pigment starts!
7. If your crease looks less defined now that you’ve added the pigment, just pop a tiny bit of Corrupt in the crease and blend it out so it doesn’t look too obviously black in comparison to Bitten!
8. If you’re a liner lover like me, then apply your eyeliner! I simply mimic the shape of my eye and pop the liner on my lash line first, and then sculpt out some wings! I find using eyeliner felt tips like the Kat Von D Tattoo Liner as it stays on for SO long and I just find that I have a lot of control when it comes to creating a winged eyeliner!
9. To make the look that little bit more dramatic I added Swiss Chocolate and Bitten underneath my lower lash waterline and blended it out so it looked super smokey! I absolutely love adding shadows underneath my eye as I think it just ties the whole look together perfectly!
10. Last but not least, it’s time for a whole load of mascara! You can add false lashes if you wish! However the Maybeline False Lash Effect Mascara does the job for me without the hassle of false lashes!
So, there you have it! Despite being a complete makeup cluts, I’m so happy that I’ve found an evening appropriate makeup look that can’t really go wrong!
