Patches are such a big trend recently, usually I never like to dip my feet into trends too much as like with every trend, at some point they go out of style and end up slummed to the back of the wardrobe. However this season I’ve been loving the whole patches and pins trend! I find it a really fun way to sass up your everyday simplistic items and give them a bit of interest basically!
This jacket (which was kindly sent to me by SheIn, thank you!) is just all of the ‘jacket goals’ right now, it’s a slightly oversized vintage washed jacket with a handful of patches, nothing too over the top or flashy – Which is what I love about it! I think there’s a very fine line between this trend being stylish and a little tacky, however this jacket sits firmly with being stylish!

Now that I’m back at uni (yes I’ve gone into my final year and yes I’m freaking out about it!) I think my style slightly changes, I become a little more laid back and dress for comfort over style the majority of the time, however with the recent ‘boyish grunge’ trend that’s been hitting the catwalks and high streets the past few weeks, I feel as though it’s became somewhat acceptable to emulate those ‘Couldn’t care less vibes’ when it comes to styling up an outfit.
This outfit is inspired by that trend and the jacket perfectly completes the look, mixing the patch trend with the grunge trend, it’s a mash-up of trends that I think really works well together! Denim jackets are a staple item to everyone wardrobe and can be interchanged and restyled throughout every season and I think subtle nods to trends like this jacket, even when the trend isn’t considered ‘trendy’ I think you could still wear it, as the jacket isn’t particularly loud or in your face – There are denim patch jackets out there which are very OTT and really add a bold statement to an outfit, however I think Shein have got me crushing over this jacket to much, I think it’s the only one I need!
I think Shein is a great site, especially if you’re wanting to dip your toes into different trends, without busting the bank. It’s a good way to find out what works for you and what doesn’t, as I can confess that a few times I’ve forked out a decent amount of money in an attempt to try and make a trend work for me and in the end, the item only ends up at the back of my wardrobe never to see the light of day! Shein is much like ASOS, in the sense that you pretty much get sucked into a vortex of clothes and shoes and before you know it, 5 hours have passed and you’ve got a bag full of exciting items and trend pieces to try!
