THE ART OF BALANCING YOUR PRIORITIES

Let me just be the first person to admit that I find it quite difficult to juggle a lot of tasks and prioritise things appropriately. I always get everything I need to do to the standard the I intend to, however sometimes the thought of just how busy I am and how much pressure I put on myself can be a bit too much. You may have realised that I missed a blog post last week, which you may not think is that big of a deal, however it is to me! I try and ensure that every blog post I publish has a bit of love and passion added into the mix, I’d never post anything for the sake of gaining traffic and views on a post that wouldn’t even be worth anyones time.

You’re probably reading this thinking, where’s the style and the beauty posts, why are you rambling on about absolutely nothing, however surely I’m not alone in feeling like I burden myself with the pressure to do well and post regularly, here;s some little tips and tricks that I’ve been doing to help de-stress me and look at the priorities in my life in a different way..

1. Take A Step Back And Look At The Situation

This probably sounds weird and as though I’m attempting to be some sort of spiritual guide. However sometiesm you have to detach yourself from a situation and actually imagine how others would view it and prioritise it. For example, to me by blog means the world and I’f much rather pour my time into a blog post rather than spend time doing uni work however to other uni work would obviously be more important, therefore I’ve had to switch up what I’m prioritising in order to get shit done! I mean, I am in the final year of my degree now, one more year before I can dedicate all my spare time into doing what I love, which is blogging of course!

2. Get Through Any Work In Short Doses

My attention span is somewhat non-existent therefore I find it easier to fritter from project to project and allow my brain to remain stimulated, or at least aim for that. Although I’m the kind of girl who does 20 minutes of a university assignment and then takes a 2 hour break, I find that when I work like this I am a little more productive, however this doesn’t mean that If my brain is flowing about one subject, that I jut cut it short, If I’m writing about something I have so many thoughts and information about then I go with it, because being a complete scatter brain means that I end up forgetting the point that I’m trying to make!

3. Breathe

I’m a massive believer in a bit of ‘me’ time, sometimes it’s important to have an evening of relaxation, even if you have got a million and one things to do. You’ve got to give your brain and body a rest, it’s no good to continuously stress yourself out and have it piled on top of yourself, I mean I’m a fine one to talk because I am truly a stress head however you need to give yourself a break, at the end of the day your health and happiness is the most important thing!

I hope you found this post helpful, any advice… please share!
