LIVERPOOL FOOD & DRINK FESTIVAL
SEFTON PARK: APRIL 15TH & 16TH
I’ve attended a fair few of the Food & Drink festivals and I’ve loved them every year. You can read all about last years festival here. They make such a great day out, whether you’re with family or friends, there’s not much better that sharing some good company as well as good food for local restaurants, cafes and bars within Liverpool.
I recently attended the press launch of the festival and got a sneaky peak of some of the hottest food, drink and lifestyle producers who will be in that park over the weekend of the festival. The event was held at the lovely Be At One in Liverpool, the mojitos were flowing and the smell of cupcakes was in the air, life was good. After attending the event, I can firmly say that it may be the best Food & Drink Festival weekend yet. I was so presently surprised to see some of my local favourites showcasing their amazing food and drinks at the press event and obviously soon to be at the festival.
Some of the ones to really look forward to are Artisane, Tilly’s Cakery, Neon Jamon, The French Corner and Liverpool Gin, companies that I have loved for so long and I’m so happy they’re going to be serving up some delicious cakes, bakes and main dishes to indulge in at the festival.
Liverpool Food & Drink Spring Festival has been designed to showcase what Liverpool has to offer. Over the past 5 years, Liverpool has truly flourished in terms of what we have to offer in the food & drink industry. Visitors to the Spring festival will find everything from food, drink, music, entertainment and some opportunities to shop some of the Lifestyle brands that Liverpool has to offer such as, Haybeno. The creators of Haybeno attended the press event and I think what they’re doing is simply amazing. Taking off casts of wood and making them into beautifully crafted and unique homeware and accessories.

LIVERPOOL LIGHT NIGHT
FRIDAY 19TH MAY
Liverpool Light Night is back for its annual late night event across the city. The Light Night is an amazing opportunity to fully immerse yourself in Liverpool’s culture. It’s back again for its 8th consecutive year and I cannot wait. The event truly utilises the city, from all the amazing event spaces it has to offer to the local cafes in the nooks of the city that you’d never even think to visit. There’s nothing I love more than being a tourist in my own city and discovering what it has to offer, from arts and culture to independent businesses.
This year’s theme is ‘Time’ regarding the past, present and future of the lively city. It’s teing together with the people of Liverpool as well as the citys infulence on scientific discovery – Sounds interesting doesnt it? Venues for this year’s LightNight include the Metropolitan Cathedral, celebrating its Jubilee Year in 2017, Liverpool Cathedral, Bluecoat, St George’s Hall, Albert Dock, Gostin’s Building, LJMU sites, the Baltic Triangle and more. Liverpool’s museums and galleries open their doors late into the night as the city provides the stage for its incredible arts and culture.

LIVERPOOL SOUND CITY MUSIC FESTIVAL
25th – 28th MAY
This is the event that I’m 100% most excited about. I love Sound City and this year it’s turning the big 10! The lineup this year is HUGE! I’m so excited to see some bands that I’ve loved for so long, alongside some up and coming Liverpool bands such as The Vryll Society and Judas. I’m so excited to see what the festival is going to pull out the bag this year in celebration for its birthday, I’ve got a feeling it’s going to be bigger and better than ever.
Sound City truly expresses what Liverpool has to offer in terms of music, culture and debate. There’s local bands playing here, there and everywhere. Dancers shimmying and grooving through the crowds and tents to get involved with some intimate discussion with some bands and industry professionals. There’s always something to do! As well as that, the festival showcases some of the best food in town, last year the festival was catered by some of my favourites such as; American Pizza Slice and Maray, the perfect food to top of a brilliant, jam-packed weekend.
