MY SUMMER STYLE HEROS

I now feel as though Summer has officially come to an end,  my Summer holiday is over and I’m actually really excited for Autumn and Autumn/Winter style of course. With style on the brain right now, I thought it would be nice to look back at some of my favourite pieces from Summer, as I’m not usually the biggest fan of Summer style, however, this year I’ve really attempted to put my stamp on Summer style, as quite frankly, I’ve never really got on with Summe trends and have never really felt all that confident when baring my body during the Summer-time. So here’s some of my Summer Style Heroes from this Summer!

Star Print Shift Dress from Tobi

1. Printed Shift Dresses

You really cannot go wrong with a Shift Dress, there’s so many styles that they come in, whether it’s a 90’s square neck style like this Star Print one from Tobi, or a 60’s style Shift dress, there’s so many ways that you can style them and layer them up, so they can be worn no matter what the weather may be. I find shift dresses to be the perfect answer for when you don’t know what to wear, they’re so easy to throw on and you still appear as though you’ve put some sort of effort into your outfit. Although I’m a lover of the printed shift dress, there’s some really amazing bold ones on the market which I’ve been LOVING when it comes to adding some colour into my everyday outfits.

As you can see from the above picture, I’ve been loving styling Shift dresses with some sassy accessories, just to refine the straight shape of the shift dress, so it’s a little more flattering and to add some extra detail. This shift dress is from Tobi and I’m so obsessed with the print. There’s just something about Star Print that I cannot get enough of, It’s such a cool print and the square neckline detail makes the dress have those 90’s vibes that have been everywhere lately.

2. Red EVERYTHING

Red has 100% been the colour of the season. Red has been my favourite colour to wear for a long time, I think it looks so good with blonde hair (if I do say so myself!) Red is such an easy colour to add into wardrobe, it looks great with a monochromatic palette, as well as when it’s mixed with other colours and patterns. If you were to look into my wardrobe, you’d be welcomed by a sea of red, red dresses, skirts, blouses, bags, you name it, I’ve got it – Especially if it’s red.

One of my favourite red pieces right now is my Kate Spade bag, although it doesn’t fit all that much inside,  however, it’s the perfect pop of red to any outfit and if you’re not daring enough to bare such a bold colour, adding a red bag or red accessories into the mix are a really easy way to introduce the colour into your wardrobe. So maybe at some point, you’ll be buying all red everything just like myself.

3. Baker Boy Hats

Baker Boy Hats are my comfort zone. My hair doesn’t always coporate with me, niether does my face to be honest. So, Baker Boy Hats are the perfect way to hide any of my sins, aka my face. Obviously hats are the most practical items during the Summer, they don;t exactly keep you cool in the heat, however, here in the UK, we don’t tend to get sweltering heat too often, so I’ve been wearing them quite a lot.

They just add a retro vibe to any outfit and as you probably already know, Summer style is not my forte. I’m a lover of the 60’s and 70’s so I feel as though adding a baker boy hat to my Summer looks is the perfect way to incorporate some retro vibes.

4. Oversized Denim Jackets

Denim jackets are a wardrobe staple, there’s no doubt about it. However, here in the UK, they’re not that practical in any other season other than Summer. Therefore as soon as the sun starts making an appearance, I’m whipping out the Denim jackets with on hesitation.

I’ve got two oversixed denim jackets that I’ve been loving recently. The first one if my trusted Vintage Levi Jacket, this is summer oversized and it looks incredible with absolutely everything. It just adds a slightly cooler, edgier vibe to whatever I’m wearing it with. The second is a denim jacket from Tobi with a really cool lace up detail along the arms and back, I’ve been wearing it none stop since I got it. I’ve been loving styling it super easy with some trainers and straight leg jeans, it’s been the perfect jacket for late summer, as it’s getting a tad cooler and the weather is even more unpredictable.

This Summer has been incredible, however, I’m really excited to start introducing faux fur coats and knitwear into my wardrobe. So here’s to my Summer Style Heros, for making me look a little bit more presentable throughout the Summer.
