TESTING MAKEUP | REVOLUTION FLAWLESS 4 PALETTE

Believe it or not, I’ve never tried ANY of Makeup Revolution’s eyeshadow palettes. I feel as though I’m committing a sin to the makeup Gods when I say that and it’s no shock that every beauty blogger I know is always so surprised when I say I’ve never delved into the brand too much. Although I always read reviews and swatch everything when I visit Superdrug, I’ve strangely just never purchased anything – Shock horror, I know! Imagine me not buying anything… 

Out of all the Makeup Revolution eyeshadow palettes, the Flawless 4 Palette really spoke to me in general. It’s full of Oranges, Mauves, and Browns, which are my favourite colours to wear both every day and of an evening. They’re the only colours that I really wear, to be honest. Although there’s so many diverse palettes on the market, I’ll always stay true to my orange roots. 

COLOURS 

As mentioned previously, the colour range is what I was most attracted to with this palette. Although it was gifted, I honestly would have purchased this myself. It almost fits within the colour scheme of the ABH Modern Renaissance, which is obviously quite a pricey palette, so it’s nice that there’s a high street alternative with plenty of colours to play with. 

PIGMENTATION 

I’m trying not to compare this palette too much to the ABH Modern Renaissance, obviously that palette is an all time fave for myself and many other. The texture of the Flawless 4 eyeshadows are slightly more chalky, you don’t have the buttery texture. However, for the price, I’m really impressed with the pigment. If you use without a primer, is more of a sublet colour wash, however if you use a primer you do get more of a colour pay off. The shimmer shades are excellent in all fairness. Their texture is noticeably softer to the matte shades within the palette, therefore, the shimmers are what really make this palette stand out for me. 

WEAR 

Eyeshadow wear can once again be altered by the primer that you use and as I’ve mentioned, the shades work a lot better with a primer for them to cling on to. The wear was rather impressive, I wore the shades for an entire day at work and didn’t experience any fall down or the colours washing away as the day went on. 

OVERALL OPINION 

There’s no doubt in my mind that this palette isn’t worth it. The shade range is incredible and I love the mixture of finishes. It’s a really versatile palette. If you’re just getting into warm colours, however you don’t want to dive straight in a splurge on a high end palette, the Flawless 4 palette will fill that void, I’m sure of it! Although the matte shades can be a little chalky, It’s not to a degree were I’d stop using the palette or avoid the colours. I’m really looking forward to creating more looks with this palette now that we’re officially in Autumn and I can channel a pumpkin 24/7 with these beautiful warm shades.
