How To Spend 24hrs In Liverpool

At a glance, spending 24 hours in a city like Liverpool would come with absolute ease, there’s so much to do and see, you’re practically spoiled for choice. However, you want to make sure you fit in as much as possible and truly utilise your time in one of the most vibrant cities in the UK. Last weekend, I set myself a challenge to see how I would spent 24 hours in Liverpool and the amazing places that I visited during my time in the city that owns my heart. So, if you’re planning a city break to Liverpool and need some tips and tricks from a Liverpool local on how to make the most of your time, you can thank me later!

Start Your Day Right

Breakfast at Hafla Hafla, Lark Lane.

Starting your day off on the right foot is easy with a visit to Hafla Hafla on Lark Lane. The do the most amazing veggie breakfasts, I’ve been 3 times over the past 2 months simply because I can’t get enough. I usually get ‘The Veggie Hafla’ which consists of homemade beans, hollumi, eggs, falafel, sour dough bread and garlic mushrooms. It’s the best way to fill yourself up, ready for a day of exploring and sight seeing in Liverpool.

Lark Lane is an amazing place to explore. It’s located a stones through away from Sefton Park, so after you’ve filled your boots with delicious food, you can take a stroll around the park before heading into the city centre.

Climb To The Top Of The Liverpool Cathedral

When taking a city break, you want to get the best views and of course, the best instagram shots possible. The Liverpool Cathedral, is stunning in itself, inside is truly stunning, however, if you get the lifts and climb and stairs, you’ll be welcomed by the most stunning views of the city. From the top, you can see pretty much anywhere across the city. The Albert Docks, The Georgian Quarter and of course, The Three Graces.

Discover The Albert Docks

The Royal Albert Docks are a must visit if you’re in Liverpool. The Docks are full of history and if you visit during the weekend, there’s bound to be something going on, whether that’s street food vans feeding the hungry, or a Pirate Festival, if you’ve got time to spare or just want to pick-up the overall vibe of the city, then The Albert Docks are the place to be.

If you’re really wanting to stick your teeth into adventure, you can book activities such as; Inflatable assault courses or Kayaking. And if that’s not your cup-of-tea, there’s plenty of bars and restaurants with stunning views of the docks so that you can sit back, relax and take in the amazing views.

Tourist Tip:

Visiting Liverpool with a loved one? Why not add a love lock to the rails by The River Mersey?

Unleash Your Inner Artist at The Tate

There’s so many amazing museums and art galleries in Liverpool. However, if you want to stray away from the ordinary, why not visit The Tate Gallery? Even if you’re not that much into art, there’s some really fun exhibitions on pretty much every month and even if that doesn’t spark your fancy, there’s a rainbow floor perfect for any instagram photos, or even if you just want to see something a little different.

Lunch At Lucha Libre, Seel Street

Obviously my Lunch of choice would be Mexican. What else would you expect? Lucha Libre is one of my favourite independent Mexican Street Food restaurants in Liverpool. They’ve recently updated their menu and there’s so many amazing new options to select from. I went for my usual, which is a Burrito, of course. However, there’s so many sides, starters and delicious cocktails to select from, there’s something for everyone!
